I just viewed this recently at the Louvre - apparently this work had been left to the elements and accessble to anyone for quite some time prior to its place at the Louvre - my question, is the Crab part of the original or is it a later "tag" or vandalism by some unknown - if it is part of the original, it seems out of place, so what does it represent?
